Voice Call Flow For Placing Wagers
VoiceBetŪ begins each
telephone call with a welcome message, an audio icon, and a prompt for
an account number. You may either speak your account number as digits,
or use the keys on the touch tone keypad to submit the account number.
All touch tone key input is finished by touching the '#' key.
For example, account
number 712346 is submitted as:
| Spoken |
Keys |
| "seven,
one, two, three, four, six" |
712346# |
The account personal
identification number, PIN, is requested. The PIN may be spoken as
digits or keyed using the touch tone keypad. In public areas where
others may hear you speak, use the touch tone keypad to keep the PIN
private.
If the account PIN were
1234, it would be submitted as:
| Spoken |
Keys |
| "one,
two, three, four" |
1234# |
If the account number and
PIN match, the system will sign on to your account and play back the
current account balance followed by a prompt to provide a track and
race. At this point in the call flow you may choose whether to speak
your bets or key your bets using touch tone. In either mode, you may
interrupt the prompting with your selections.
For keyed bets, each part
of the bet is followed by the '#' key.
For spoken bets, the
track and race are collected, then the amount, bet type and runner(s).
Spoken bet details must be in that order. The speech recognizer does
not understand extra words like 'umm', uh', or phases like 'I mean'.
It fully recognizes track names, race numbers, amounts, bet types and
all runner combinations.
For example, the bet:
Beulah Park Race 1, $2 Win 1 is collected as:
| Spoken |

"Enter track and race" |
| "Beulah

#3 to hear the bet again |

collected one piece at a time. After confirming a bet, you may make
another one.
