The Road to the Derby Contest kicks off for the second year with 10 weekends leading up to the Kentucky Derby on May 7.

This Saturday the Southwest Stakes from Oaklawn Park and the San Luis Obispo Stakes from Santa Anita will kick off the 23-race schedule.

This year there will be a $25 buy-in for the contest and players will use real $10 wagers each week to shoot for the $5,000 prize pool with the Grand Prize of $3,000. The second-place finisher will receive $1,500 and third-place will receive $500.

Pay-to-play handicapping tournament every Saturday for wagering account members. Seven mandatory contest races will be posted each Friday at Noon ET, from which players make mythical $2 win/place wagers. It's a real time betting contest with 100% payback of entry fees($25 per ticket).

Each week 60% of the prize pool is distributed as cash prizes. The remaining 40% carryovers to AmericaTAB Handicapping Open Finals in 2005 with top 5 players from each week qualifying.
